SEAFORTH LITTLE ATHLETICS

Parent Duties

Your child’s registration is not completed until you have selected 3 parent duties.

Parent Duties – CLICK HERE if you are ready to choose. If you need more information, please read below.

Little Athletics can only function through volunteers. All the regular faces you see at the track – committee members, officials, starters, age managers, canteen manager, IT and equipment specialists – they are all volunteers. In addition, every week we need 75 parent volunteers to fulfil a range of duties that enable us to deliver Saturday morning competition and mid-week training for our athletes.

Each club levies a parent duty bond of $75 per family in order to encourage parents to fulfil their parent duties – just 3 per family per season. This bond is payable at registration and families are eligible for a full refund after completing all duties for the season. Refunds are paid after the end of the season. You must select 2 duties between the start of the season and 31st December and one duty after 1st January.

Parent duties are explained on the Manly Warringah Centre website. In addition to Saturday competition duties Seaforth parents can choose:

Wednesday Night Training Support:

We are also looking for help from parents to assist coaches at training on a Wednesday night. Arrive at 5:15pm to set up equipment for training. During training, you will be required to supervise children as they practice each activity. At the end of training, you will be required to pack away equipment.

As a new option for the 2017/18 season, if you are unable to complete 3 parent duties, you can choose to ‘opt out’ and pay the $75 fee – this option has been added to the parent duty sign up page

Tips when signing up for Parent Duties:

Zone, Regional, State Championships

In the event that a child qualifies for zone, regional or state level competition, then parents must perform rostered duties for the MWLAC at those representative events which is over and above their club duties.
